Building on the Legal Concepts course, this program
is tailored to those officers working in the Golden
State. General topics such as misdemeanors versus
felonies are covered, however the real values in this
program are the extracts from the California Penal
Code. Laws of particular interest to the working security
officer are covered. The premise is simple: if the
officer's job is crime prevention, then he or she
should know what a crime is in their specific state.
Subjects include, but are not limited to: use of force,
handling shoplifters, criminal damage, burglary and
trespassing. And as with all courses in the Professional
Development Series, automated quizzes and a final
exam document the completion of this important training.
Completion of Legal Concepts is recommended as a prerequisite
to California Law for Today's Security Officer.
