After installation, my display
is too big and continuously scrolls. What do I do
to prevent this condition?
Monitor settings should be set to 800X600 16Bit/24Bit/32Bit
True Colors. If you cannot change screen resolution
to this setting, the Display Driver may need to
be updated.
Every time I try to log on,
the computer locks up. Why does this happen? I did
not have this problem immediately after the installation.
The most probable cause for this symptom is
a corrupted student key. However, the same symptoms
also indicate that a version of Norton Antivirus
earlier than 5.0 may be running in the background.
The best option is to turn off all un-needed software
programs when you are running the Telecommunicator
Series.
I am running the Telecommunicator
Series on an NT Workstation. Our network administrator
installed the package. The user name and password
assigned to me for training will not allow me to
use the course. How can I overcome this problem?
Install as Administrator, and then set user
permissions. Modifications must be made to the Windows
NT/2000/XP registry to ensure the TMS program will
function correctly for all users. Your administrator
must set these permissions by using the directions
here. NT
FIX Instructions
When logging in for the initial
time, must I use "student" as the password
and social security number as the User ID?
During the initial login, the student may use any
easily remembered number as the User ID. This number
may not be changed. The word "student"
is used for the password to format the Student Key.
The password may not be changed.
Upon finishing my first training
module, I went to "Submit Results" and
E-mailed my scores to my home address. Why was I
unable to read the scores from the message on my
home computer?
The Email option for submitting results is for sending
test scores to your training officer if that person
has the administrative password for the Telecommunicator
Series. To print a certificate of completion after
successfully completing a training module, click
the "View certificate for printing" option,
click "OK" and follow the instructions
on the screen to print the Certificate of Completion.
Is there a different procedure
for installing the program on a Windows NT/2000/XP
platform?
Yes, if you are installing the Telecommunicator
Series under Windows NT, you must have administrative
privileges.
Additionally for WINDOWS NT/2000/XP ADMINISTRATORS:
Specific modifications to the Windows NT Registry
must be made to ensure the Telecommunicator Series
Training Management System (TMS) functions correctly.
We have included instructions for modifying these
Registry Files in a NT/2000/XP_FIX file folder located
on your Installation CD or you may click here for
the NT/2000/XP_FIX
Instructions. We recommend you print out this
text document prior to initiating these modifications.
When I print out a certificate,
can I change the name on the certificate from the
original logon name to another user name?
No, the scores for the certificate are maintained
on the Student Key(Floppy). Once the Student Key
has been initialized with the User's name and ID,
it cannot be changed. When printing a certificate,
the User's name, ID and scores are verified. This
protects the student and provides a legal record
of the students performance.
I recently reordered a newer
version of the Telecommunicator Series and am having
difficulties getting the program to install or run
properly. How can I get the newer version to work
on the same computers as the older version I have?
When installing version 3.1.9, it overwrites previous
versions. You must use the formatted 3.1.9 installation
floppy to install the product and the formatted
floppy to record your scores. Please call Customer
Service at 1-888-903-5387 for installation assistance.
